A wreath on my door

I love the smell of lavender. I am lucky enough to have some growing in my backyard. I have made sachets to give as gifts before but I decided it was time to make a nice wreath for my front door.

I started with a wreath form and floral wire, both totaled under $5 at Walmart:

My lovely lavender sat to the side while I arranged stems on the wreath form:

Halfway done - I decided I like really full wreaths, and considering buds will fall off, I wanted to add more to this:

The finished wreath perfumes my front door, I don't know why I didn't do this earlier, it was so easy and cost so little!

I have lots of lavender left over, so I can still make my usual sachet gifts, which people love to receive.

Hope you enjoyed this craft!

I love your wreath! A lavender wreath has been on my To Make list for awhile. Next summer for sure! I had to transplant my lavender this year. The stalks are very Dr. Seuss like because trying to find the sun in the new flower bed.

What a great wreath! I just planted some english lavender for the kitchen and I have been looking for some really camphor-y lavender that I can plant to do things like this with.

Fabulous. I have some lavender but not enough for a wreath. I think I will put some in a basket by my front door, though. What a wonderful welcome!

That wreath looks so pretty...and quaint. I LOVE the idea of a homemade lavender wreath. Wow..too bad we don't have anything like that growing here. Did you start it at home yourself? Can you buy lavender plants? I'd love to have that fresh scent any time. :O) Very lovely work, Claudia. (And thrifty too--I'm impressed!)

I bet your guests love stopping by your home just for the lovely scent that makes them feel welcomed. Your wreath is beautiful, and you must be quite the gardener to have so much left over!
