Girl Crush: Hayley Atwell

A few months ago I watched a miniseries called The Pillars of the Earth and I just fell in love with actress Hayley Atwell.

Her portrayal of Aliena centered the story and I wondered what else I had seen her in. Turns out she was in The Duchess, playing Keira Knightley's BFF turned rival turned I-won't-spoil-it-for-you.

She is (hopefully) now hitting the big time, appearing in the new Captain America movie:

I dig a leather jacket she wears in the movie and hope we'll see her in lots more movies and series stateside. Yeah, I know, I will have to sit through endless minutes of half-naked Chris Evans in Captain America but one has to do what one has to do, right? ;D

Girl Crush: Cate Blanchett

I've had a crush on Cate Blanchett since Elizabeth came out. I thought she was brilliant and she has yet to disappoint me with her acting. She has been in some shitty movies but she is always the highlight. With some overrated (in my opinion) actresses - yes, I mean you, Julia Roberts - you always get the same character. Julia is always Julia in whatever movie she is. And when she is not, she fails miserably at NOT being Julia.

Cate, however, disappears in her roles. She transforms from one role to another (again, is my opinion) and has only gotten more gorgeous and talented with the years.

Really, a moment of simplicity, but I love how striking she looks nonetheless. And I want her haircut.

Girl Crush: Blake Lively

I just love Blake Lively. No offense to Nikki Reed, but if *I* had been in charge of casting Rosalie in the Twilight movies, I would have chosen Blake to play her. Please, the most beautiful creature on the planet? Easy choice. Nikki is a sexy, gorgeous brunette, but Catherine Hardwicke fucked up the casting big time and now in the movies, Rosalie looks like a bitch with a bad dye job.

ANYWAY, onto my girl Blake - she was just named the face of Chanel Mademoiselle handbags. Here she is with the Kaiser himself, Karl Lagerfeld:
Her smile is so sparkling and sweet, she might be a bitch from hell for all I know but come on, anyone who makes cupcakes can't be all that bad.

And no, I don't want Gossip Girl. I don't have time. But I do love Blake. Or as I call her, my Rosalie.
